Unjust Treatment Of Our Elderly

Unjust Treatment Of Our Elderly

It amazes me that senior citizens, who supposed to be on a fixed income still have a hard time getting services that are vital to their well-being like, affordable health care and, housing. Sure, they may receive SSI but, by the time they pay rent, there's hardly anything left over to maintain the essential fundamentals for everyday use. For instance, a check for $800 a month.

Now, if rent is $600, how far will $200 stretch for, light, gas, toiletries, food and, a senior citizen should always have access to a telephone. Oh yes!, I forgot to mention, medication. There are some people between the ages of 60-90 years old that take multiple medications at, $30,$40,$50 even$80 something dollars, per prescription. Plus, the medicine usually plays a big part in whether they live or die.

Can anyone tell me why, a senior citizen on a fixed income should have to pay that much for medication? Sometimes, they have to chose between eating or, buying their medication. In some cases, the choice is very easy because, doing without the medication may cause them to become sicker, have sudden attacks or even, death.

That is also the reason why in some cases, some senior citizens turn to cat/dog food. Being that cat and, dog food are so cheap they are able to pay for their medication and, still get a little
something to eat. It's totally shameful.

  • That is why I do what I do, to help the ederly get off prescription medications by detection of antioxidant protection in the human body, which fights free radicals that leads to illness and serious diseases.

  • That's wonderful because, there's a lot of things that should be at the disposal of the elderly. If for nothing else, human compassion should be reason enough. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my article. Have a wonderful day and a joyous holiday season.
